SPORTS COMPLEX

RAPID CITY — Land donation moves soccer
complex closer to reality as Hill City
couple donates land for 24-field complex
Developer and tax attorney Doyle Estes
and his wife, business consultant and
South Dakota regent Kathy Johnson of
Hill City donated an 80-acre tract of
land to the city Thursday, June 5,
paving the way for a 24-field soccer
complex to be built several miles north
of I-90 past the Flying J truck stop.
Brian Pitts, executive director of Rapid
City Soccer/Sport Complex, said the
donation of the land marked a big day in
the development of the complex. He said
Estes' and Johnson's generosity is
enormous and they are hoping to start
dirt work next year.
